Will the Internet change my life?
Undoubtedly, once you start working with the Internet you won’t want to give it up. The Internet is a great enabler. It breaks down all geographic barriers. As the Web becomes more sophisticated the type of data that can be shared has become more comprehensive and the form of interaction between individuals has become more intuitive. The Internet is a new medium for communication, which requires the adoption of new methodologies to make best use of it. As CAD has changed the way most of us design, so the Internet has changed the way many of us now communicate.

To understand how the Internet will change your life you need to ask some more questions.

What is Email?
Email (electronic mail) is a method of sending messages from one computer to another. This can take place within a single building between computers physically connected to the same network or it can take place between computers on opposite sides of the globe. Email can also be used to send files such as word processor documents, images and CAD drawings.

What is the World Wide Web?
The "Web" is simply a form of communication on the Internet. It is sometimes incorrectly used interchangeably with the word "Internet". As explained above, the Internet is the infrastructure that allows computers to communicate. The Web is a protocol that allows people to view data in a specific way. Data on the Web is displayed as Web "Pages". These pages are written using a format called HTML (HyperText Markup Language). Web page files are stored on a Web server so that anyone anywhere in the world can access them. There are currently over 700 million Web pages on the World Wide Web. Creating your own Web pages can be very simple. If you use a word processor such as Microsoft Word, you can convert any document into a Web page by using the "Save as HTML" command.
